Ismail is a senior analyst in Ovum’s Consumer and Entertainment Services team. He focuses on global TV markets – particularly in the Middle East and Africa and Asia-Pacific regions – and tracks the evolution of the global set-top-box industry.
Ismail’s research includes assessing pay-TV, OTT, and telco TV operator strategies; next-generation TV; and the evolution of traditional and linear to online and on demand services. He focuses on the market opportunities that arise within the markets of the Africa, Middle East, and Asia-Pacific regions.
Ismail also tracks developments in TV technologies, network digitalization and analog switch-off, and device evolution into 4K. He also tracks the global set-top-box industry, creating forecasts and segmenting the market by 4K and connected boxes.
Previously, Ismail worked as an analyst for broadband and wireless markets. He joined Informa in 2010. A speaker of four
languages, his work has boosted Ovum clients’ insights into developing markets and the opportunities arising from them.
