Thursday 12 March 2020 – In light of the impending government announcement and as the situation around coronavirus continues to escalate, resulting in many of our clients to understandably enforce travel bans and/or restrictions on their staff attending events, we have made the decision to reposition next week’s Connected TV World Summit as a virtual and digital event only.

Unfortunately this means that we will no longer be admitting delegates into the venue due to health and safety reasons.

However, you can register to view the streamed content at this link

One week ago, after speaking to both sponsors and delegates, as well as following government guidelines, we took the decision to postpone the main event until October/November but to also run a one-day event (for free) for those who were still committed to coming to the event, especially as we were aware that people had already invested and planned their travel and accommodation, but it has become apparent that running an event with up to 200 delegates is no longer a viable option.

We are incredibly grateful for the support we have received over the last couple of weeks from our clients and delegates. We promise to deliver an incredible event for you later in the year. Your tickets for the event will be automatically transferred to the new event, but if you have any queries at all please contact us at

We also appreciate that business needs to go on and our commitment to delivering the best insight and opinion to the market will continue throughout this difficult period. That is why we are curating a digital agenda in partnership with our speakers and sponsors with a series of streamed content on March 18, supported by interviews and webinars throughout the week, as well as written reports on Videonet and Mediatel News, focused around some of the main talking points from the CTV agenda.

We also feel we owe a responsibility not just to our sponsors, but to the wider events market in general, including our venue and suppliers, who are also facing an uncertain financial difficulty. Delivering content in a virtual format allows us to still support them, just as they have supported us through this difficult period.

We will send out details of this digital agenda in due course. All content will also be made available after the event to view online if you are unable to watch in real time.

We hope you all stay safe and look forward to seeing you all again very soon.

Tuesday 10 March 2020 – Over the last couple of weeks, we have kept a close eye on any new developments with regards to the current coronavirus situation and with people still booking tickets and making travel plans, we are still going ahead with the Connected TV World Summit. We believe this is the right thing to do for those already invested in flight and hotel reservations. However, we are aware that some companies have imposed international travel bans and are asking their employees not to attend industry events. Sadly, this inevitably has had a knock-on effect on the number of attendees we expected and the speaker line-up for next week.

In light of this, we have taken the decision to reduce the event to a single stream one-day event which will take place on 18th March at The Royal College of Physicians and encourage all ticket holders still planning to attend to come along on this date. We will also run an additional Connected TV World Summit again in October or November this year in its original two-day format and this will be free of charge to everyone that holds a delegate pass for the March event .

What does this mean for you?

We are working closely with the speakers who are still able to make it to curate a streamlined version of the agenda to ensure we still deliver the best event we can for you, given the current circumstances. We will also continue to celebrate stand-out innovation in the industry at the Videonet Connected TV Awards winners presentation after the conference finishes.

All ticket holders will be able to attend on 18th March, plus you will also get complimentary access to the additional Connected TV World Summit to be held in October / November. You are not required to purchase any further tickets.

I can’t make it on the 18th, what do I do?

If you are unable to attend the event, please let us know here. We have arranged for live streaming facilities to be available to anyone not able to attend. We just need a few details from you in order to send you the access the details –

I’m not able to attend the event in October / November.

If you are unable to attend the additional two-day event later in the year, your ticket can be transferred to the Connected TV World Summit in March 2021.

Tuesday 3 March 2020 – In light of the current coronavirus (COVID-19) situation Mediatel Events would like to reassure all those planning to attend the Connected TV World Summit that we are committed to ensuring the wellbeing of all attendees and that the event will be going ahead as planned on 18-19 March 2020.

We have followed the recent UK government and World Health Organisation guidelines and will continue to do so and have put strict measures in place to ensure all delegates and partners feel safe during the two days of the conference. This includes:

  • Increased disinfecting and cleaning of public spaces within the venue
  • Ample hand sanitizers throughout the venue
  • Microphones will be disinfected for speakers

Over the course of the last two weeks, we have seen that people are still booking tickets to attend and we are being guided in part by the market in that respect. We are confident that the event will be as successful this year as it has in previous years, but in the interest of safety we would advise as precautionary measures you follow these guidelines at the event:

  • Refrain from shaking hands with fellow delegates
  • Wash your hands frequently
  • If you are showing symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19), please do not attend the event and contact the NHS 111 immediately.
  • If you are travelling from any of the high-risk areas indicated by the World Health Organisation or the UK Government, please do not attend the event.

We appreciate that some companies have put international travel bans in place until further notice and to that end, we have organised live streaming to allow ticket holders not able to attend to still access the content.

We hope this answers any questions you may have, however if you have any further enquiries regarding this, please contact us on For any further updates, please visit

We look forward to seeing you on 18-19 March.
